 Do You Know what is Folk Dance?

Folk dance, It is aDance that has developed without a choreographer and that reflects the traditional life of the common people of a country or region.
        Indian folk dances, which typically consist of a few simple steps, are performed to celebrate a new season, weddings, festivals, and other social occasions. In some Indian folk dances, men and women perform separately; in others, they dance together.

Uday Shankar (8 December 1900 – 26 September 1977) is know as father of Indian Folk Dance.

He was an Indian Dancer  and choreographer, best known for creating a fusion style of dance.

Some of famous indian folk dances are

Kuchipudi, Lavani, Bihu, Garbha, Bhangada etc.
